To market, to market to buy a fat pig,
Home again, home again, jiggety-jig.
To market, to market to buy a fat hog,
Home again, home again, jiggety-jog.
To market, to market to buy a plum bun,
Home again, home again, market is done.
We are home again after almost three weeks in Scotland. After more than 21 hours in transit yesterday, leaving our space in Edinburgh at 5am and arriving home at 7:30pm, we’re a little jet lagged. It will be a few days before either of us is fully functional. In the meantime, we’ll tend to basic household chores, including heading to the market, and will be grateful we have them to do.
It’s good to be home.

Welcome home! What a trip that must have been. And thanks, too, for the verse. I’d forgotten that one, but the most famous line was oft-repeated when I was a kid. We’ll look forward to hearing about your adventures.
It was quite a trip! There was so much we enjoyed about it, so many happy surprises. Look for some review in Our View in a couple of days. Thanks.
Congratulations on such a wonderful trip. Hope it was all you expected.
It was all that and more. Thanks so much.
It was a good time, as usual, traveling with you.
🙂
Sounds like a wonderful trip, and I do enjoy your Oxford pig.
I DO wonder what a “dairy” pig is, though. As far as I know, I’ve never had pig’s-milk cheese… 🙂
Maybe a dairy pig is one fed with the slops from the dairy?
Snarkyquilter is right. An Oxford Dairy Pig is a 19th century breed that was kept for bacon and reared on dairy products. Welcome home, and may your jetlag be fleeting and your satisfaction at being home long lasting!
Oh, those first few days home are always a challenge! But a great trip makes the jet lag worth it. I’ll look forward to hearing more–we’re planning a trip back to Scotland next year . . .
I’m glad you’re home safe!
Thank you!
I hope you’ll have time to post some photos of your trip – it sounds wonderful!
We will, Eliza! Jim’s been working on cleaning up photos. We’ll post some soon. Thanks.
