So much I want to say, things to write about, pictures to show… Tomorrow (Saturday) I should be able to finish the quilting on the big-block quilt. First I need to test the tension again, having smoothed the tension disks today. Another blog post on that later, perhaps.
And I finished the kaleidoscope quilt weeks ago and want to tell you about it, but that seems beyond me right now, too.
If that’s not enough, I’m working on my applique project. Today it occurred to me I could use buttons for the daisy centers. Must buy some colorful buttons…
But dang it if I didn’t get my second cold in the last three weeks. I’m a really healthy woman, so this is unusual to say the least. (And I’m very aware that a cold is about as bad as it gets for me, and I’m very fortunate.) As with the last one, though, OH the TIRED! Hard to get much done. Yesterday I wanted to lie down almost all day. Yeah, that kind of tired. Today was better. Tomorrow will be better yet, no doubt.
In the meantime, I thought I would post one of my favorite photos, a favorite memory. In 2011 Jim and I traveled to Ireland. We did a day trip to one of the Aran Islands. These beautiful chickens were enjoying the sun outside a pub.
Maybe next week I’ll hit my stride. I hope so, as there is a lot going on this month.
Melanie, I can so relate to your cold. I’ve been without much energy for 2 days, feel like it is going for the cough along with the head stuffiness and sinus pain. This is just not me and I hate it! Hope you are on the mend and can get back to doing the things you enjoy. Glad I found your site – actually tuned in to get your great advice about UFO’s.
Thank you, Paula. I hope you feel better soon! Thanks for stopping and commenting.
That’s a wonderful photo! And I guess you know how lucky you were to have sunshine on the Aran Islands?! We got soaked. I hope you bounce back soon from your colds–maybe a trip to the doctor is in order?
Oh, yes had wonderful weather — lots of different weather EVERY DAY! 🙂
Naw, no doctor, I doubt. Today I feel NOT GOOD, but I trust tomorrow will be better. Thanks.
Sounds like some pampering time is in order – bed rest, trashy novels and movies, and eye candy quilting magazines.
🙂 Sounds good.
Gorgeous chicken photo. I do hope you feel better soon. Usually when I am that tired with a cold, it turns out I have more than just a cold – bronchitis, pneumonia, flu.
Aren’t they wonderful? Flu? I had my shot, which I know doesn’t eliminate that possibility. It also could be a side effect of too much medicine the night before. I’m really sensitive to antihistimines!
Love the photo of Ireland. I spend the summer of ’78 walking around the island. Wonderful people, fabulous beer, lousy weather. In the entire time I was in Ireland, I did not see the sun once.
Ah, the couple of weeks we were there, EVERY day had a lovely mix of sun, rain, clouds and wind, repeat… 🙂 I want to go back…
Great photo to remind us all of sunny days and hope of more to come. Think my hens will be very happy when the sun returns.
Maybe you should take it easy and give yourself a break? Anyhow, hope you’re feeling good very soon.
Sun and a light breeze… I’m looking forward to it, too! A break? I never take much of a break, just a slow-down. 🙂 Thanks.
I wish you well again very soon. There’s a particular misery about a cold, and although I have them rarely due to the climate I live in, when I do, I’m miserable too. Time for a big mug of hot lemon, honey and ginger, with a pinch of turmeric if you can bear it. The effect is very comforting even if you’re not a believer in the power of ginger and honey!
I’m also a fan of plain ol’ hot water. It soothes my throat quite well. Thanks for the good wishes.
I like the sign above the left chickens “Get Into It”.
Probably be a beer slogan, but yes, I like it too. Maybe that’s the next “word of the year.” 🙂
Lovely chickens! Hope the cold soon leaves you and your energy returns, it sounds as though you’ll need plenty of it with all your projects! 🙂
Thanks for your well wishes. Yes, I expect I’ll recover soon. March’s calendar looks quite blank as compared to the next couple of weeks!
Outstanding. Life is not always so delightful for a chicken.
Aren’t they lovely? It was a good day to be a chicken, for sure.
