Last Finish of 2015

The disappearing 9-patch is done and ready (except label!) to deliver to its recipient. It’s 64″ x 88″. I quilted with free-motion quilting using dark pink thread in a floral design.

Disappearing 9-Patch. 64″ x 88″. Finished December 2015. Photo by Jim Ruebush.

It is what I hoped for: joyful and casual, not sophisticated and serious.

Brilliantly happy quilt – just what’s needed at this time of year (in the northern hemisphere anyway!). ☺

(I think WordPress just ate the comment I left; it hasn’t come up. So, trying again:)
I adore this! A rain of petals, a battle of butterflies, a tropical trellis against the night sky. Lucky, lucky someone… Did you enjoy making this as a change from your normal pristine, elegant medallion structure?

Yes, I did enjoy it. The method is fast and forgiving and just a little surprising, even with a plan. I’ll do a tutorial with different block sizes some day. (Not soon, as I’ve got some other things coming up.) Thanks for your sweet comments. Happy New Year!

And the same to you! I don’t think my commenting problem has entirely disappeared; I tried again on another blog and it’s still the same, but I have some hope knowing that I’m back somewhere!

No, the other blog I tried is still not showing me. I’ll do a post if I don’t reappear on the other blogs, asking people to UnSpam me and approve my comments. Hopefully that’ll fix the problem going forward.

Thanks for your comments. I don't check them often. Please email me if you have questions.
