Do You Like to Color?

Yesterday I played in EQ7 with a design for a big bed quilt. As drawn, it would finish as a 96″ square, a good size for a queen bed. Add one more plain border on 3 sides and it would easily fit a king-sized bed.

I wondered what it would look like in different colors. Now, one of the problems with simply re-coloring a design is it gives me preconceived ideas of value placement. Why not start from scratch?

You can see the lines very differently this way, can’t you?

If you click on the image, it will open as a separate tab. You can print it from there, if you’d like.

I have a book with lots of color ,love color. My book was with Gwen Marston and Freddy Moran. When we take the grand children out for dinner I share crayons occassionaly. Use to go to art classes when I was in high school. Enjoy . Looking forward to see your colors

Colouring is so therapeutic! I’ve seen mum’s sat round the colouring table at pre-school while the children get on with playing! And just last week a lady came to our craft group with a colouring book for grown-ups full of intricate patterns!

Thank you! You’re right, the lines do give a very different image, and my brain started putting colours in there. I had to click off quickly before another quilt demanded to be brought to life, but if I may, I’d like to save the template for another time?

I’ve been looking at the blocks in the “middle” borders. They can be swapped, rearranged, changed quite a bit, to taste. I’ll draw up the “template” for it and publish in a few days. Thanks for taking a look.
