Stained Glass Too

The top is done, as of yesterday. I made the back and binding. Once I cut the batting, I can load it and quilt it. No extra commentary now. Good pix after it’s finished. This picture, thanks to Jim, was taken in two shots and photoshopped together. It’s just too big to get a good shot straight on, without hanging it, hence the little bit of distortion and uneven lighting.Β And I don’t hang ’em until they’re quilted.

You have inspired me to do a medallion quilt, and i’m thinking of Top 10 Reasons to Make a Medallion Quilt-# 1 is my short attention span. Tired of making one block, move on to the next border!

In the home stretch! Still loving those colours, and I look forward to seeing what your plan is for the quilting. Medallion quilts have such personality, being different in each row, and I think this is one of the nicest I’ve seen for ages. So many of them are in muted ‘traditional’ colours, which look lovely but just aren’t my thing!

The quilting will be very simple, a mid-sized meander. I want it to mimic the rippled glass found in old stained glass windows. And I’ve found it rarely pays to do fancy quilting on a medallion because there is so much piecing detail.

Thanks for the kind comments. I’m not sure I can pick favorites from some of the last few I’ve done, but if I did, this would be one of them!
