I’m listening to Gaucho by Steely Dan this morning, dancing a little as I quilt. I chose a copper-colored shiny thread for this project. So far it’s going great. My tension looks just right top and bottom. Can’t beat that!
It is Glide. It looks great with the sheen. Better than that, the tension was better and more consistent than pretty much anything I’ve ever used. That could be coincidence, but I was VERY HAPPY with it! http://www.bobbincentral.com/quilting/top-thread/glide.html
I like the fabrics and the quilt pattern you choose, and the cooper adds a little extra pizzazz. That’s one things I miss about sitting while you quilt – being able to dance!! Very nice and great job.
The copper is working well. It’s a polyester thread and I was worried I might have a lot of breakage, because it’s a different texture. But so far no problem.
Thanks, Dot. I know you get a totally different view that way, but … I’m kinda lazy about posting more pix! Guess I should consider that in the future. 🙂

What brand is the copper thread? I’m loving it 😃

Thanks! I’ve had trouble with metallic threads, so I’m glad to have a recommendation.
It is polyester “trilobal”, actually 3-sided, which is what makes it shiny. I have a spool of navy blue that is just as shiny — and less useful!

Thanks. My legs were pretty tired by the end of the day, even though I didn’t dance all day long!
Very pretty… I like the copper.
Thanks much. The copper is shiny like a new penny. But it won’t tarnish!
Love the copper and glad to hear someone else dances while they “work”.

You go, girl! Great that you posted a close up of this quilt so that we can see the fabrics you used. It makes such a difference! They really sparkle.

I think you made the right choice of quilt pattern.
Lovely.
Thanks! Having fun so far. 🙂
