AaarrRRGH!!!

I know. Talk Like a Pirate Day isn’t until Thurrrrrsday.

THIS “AaarrRRGH!!!” is an every day expression of frustration. Why? My blocks are supposed to look like this:

A basic double 4-patch

I did the first one just right. And then the next five looked like this:

Another basic double 4-patch, but not the one I wanted!

HA! Yep, I guess. I could name it 13 to 1, since I made THIRTEEN blocks wrong, for the one I made the right way. [shaking my head with amazement…]

I ripped and re-stitched and finished all 4 borders, and if I say so myself, it looks GREAT!

BT,DT. Blocks are fine on the design wall. You pin them carefully and take them to the sewing machine. Somewhere, somehow, without your knowing it, a few rogue pieces twist themselves around. You feel fortunate to realize that BEFORE you have assembled the block. Or the row. Or the quilt top.

Yep! I even wrote a short story several months ago, in which a border turned the wrong way plays a deciding role!

I really don’t mind unstitching, generally. It’s just part of the process. What frustrated me most was when I did a whole ‘nother set of EIGHT the same way! Maybe next time… 🙂
